Make a top-down view character is not as difficult as I thought before I start. The only problem is the movement of the arms. I started with the external shape of the body and then I add little by little until the pixels get a convincing animation. Then for the legs and feet is really easy. After that check that the ratio of the body with the legs are correct and this requires minor adjustments. For the head just need to be careful not to give the impression that the character looks up.
